Last week I managed to write 2779 words, bringing me to a total of 49258. I am in Chapter 17, and estimate there will be another 8-10 chapters for a total of roughly 25. It’s only an estimate because, as always, the story changes as I write it, so I can’t be entirely sure how it will work out. But I know the end state I’m aiming for and hope I’ll get there eventually.<\/p>\n
I had the interesting experience this week of writing a scene, and then as soon as it was done I knew it was completely wrong. I will have to throw it out and rewrite it in a different way. But I had to write it the wrong way in order to see how it should be. I often see pieces that will have to change once I’ve written them, though I try really hard to keep my editor silent while I draft. But this is the first time my approach to an entire scene will have to change.<\/p>\n
